This Friday night, November 11, 2011 at 8 pm, we’d like to invite you to a short and informal butoh dance performance at CRS. It is the culmination of\u00a0the Fall 2011\u00a0Company SoGoNo Butoh Workshop student performance. The piece, choreographed by\u00a0Company SoGoNo\u00a0artistic director Tanya Calamoneri and butoh artist\u00a0Mariko Reynolds, is based on one of Hjikata’s butoh Fu choreographies and interpreted it their own way. Its title, “Nadare Ame NY,” can be translated literally as “avalanche of rain or candy New York.”
\nIt’s not every day that you get a chance to see people channeling peacocks in a tremendous rain storm! There will be an opportunity afterward to ask them questions about the work. Please come by and support them!
\nThe piece will be performed by workshop participants\u00a0Anthony Austin, Pele Bauch, Janna Benitez, Laura Bernstein, Jennifer Murray, and\u00a0Kevin Slesinsky.
\nThere is a suggested donation of $5.
