At times vocal, or instrumental with mbira melodies and enchanting dance rhythms, and at times fiery and percussive, and all phases in between. He was drawn into music by the magical sound of the mbira, working with the legendary Zimbabwean mbira master Ephat Mujuru for years. He has continued the mbira\/kalimba legacy and works to expand it creatively. He often tours, performing all over the planet as well as producing a popular music series in NYC (see Afro Roots Tuesdays). He is founding member of several bands including Spirit Ensemble, Heritage OP, Harmony Mbira, Kaleidhaphonic, Afrika Meets India, and more. He has worked with a wide variety of artists including Alice Walker, Oprah Winfrey, Jonathan Demme, Thomas Mapfumo, Miriam Makeba, Bobby McFerrin, Niles Rodgers, Madonna, Philip Glass, Nana Vasconcelos, and on and on.
