CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) is delighted to announce the exhibition of a series of 3rd eye paintings by Marvin Rosenberg.\u00a0Marvin\u00a0appears to be peaceful and calm at all times, and he conveys this experience of timeless peace through his paintings.\u00a0An Opening Reception with the artist will be held Saturday, Feb 8 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The spareness of the compositions suggests that the distractions of the world of perception have been largely\u00a0stripped away, encouraging us\u00a0to focus on our awareness of our own consciousness.\u00a0His\u00a0vivid use of color and the roundness of his subjects’ eyes communicate\u00a0joy and wakeful presence, allowing us to let go of our own thoughts and say yes to bliss.\u00a0The paintings will remain on view from Feb 8 – March 4, 2014, and you can experience the peace of Marvin in person at his\u00a0Gentle Yoga classes<\/a>\u00a0every Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at CRS.<\/p>\n

Artist Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I am trying to express something higher,<\/p>\n

some state of intuition, some state of realization,<\/p>\n

an atmosphere we can all enter,<\/p>\n

of calmness, of wideness.<\/p>\n

A place where we can experience the delight of being.”<\/p>\n

About Marvin Rosenberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marvin Rosenberg was born in New York City.\u00a0 As a teenager he started to draw and paint.\u00a0When he was 21, he met a man who greatly influenced the course of his life, named Sam Spanier. Sam was a successful artist who\u00a0started an ashram based upon the teachings of the Indian mystic Sri Aurobindo.\u00a0It was Sam who introduced Marvin to Yoga and Meditation and encouraged him to continue painting and pursue all the aspects of his being.\u00a0He studied Modern Dance and choreography, performing and presenting his own work in NYC.\u00a0He studied Hatha Yoga and\u00a0was asked to teach a basic yoga class, which became known as Gentle Yoga. He has been teaching gentle yoga for the past 20 years and currently\u00a0teaches this class at CRS<\/a>\u00a0every\u00a0Tuesday and Thursday from\u00a05:30 \u2013\u00a06:30 pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
