SUMMARY:The Dance of the Soul: A Sufi Workshop
DESCRIPTION:OPEN TO ALL. \n“Come\, come\, whoever you are. Wanderer\, worshipper\, lover of leaving. It doesn’t matter…come\, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come yet again\, come\, come.” \nSufi whirling is called the dance of the soul because of its ability to liberate the dancer’s soul from the prison of the body. A background in dance is not necessary to benefit from the alchemy and spiritual richness of this practice\, derived from Islamic mysticism. This workshop will focus\, in practice and theory\, on the four qualities required of a Sufi Dancer. These are essential character traits to be cultivated by any being who seeks to live a life of meaning and depth\, emphasizing the importance of a rich inner life interwoven with\, and manifesting in\, our external realities and experiences. Cathartic and powerful\, this practice is life-altering\, exerting an irresistible pull on those who are called to it\, and therefore meant to remove their veils and witness the intoxicating light of the divinity that lies at the core of our human essence. \nIn this workshop\, the student will learn whirling technique and experience several meditation in motion exercises meant to facilitate connection with the deepest part of our selves. Students will also learn essential facts and some history about Sufism. This will facilitate an understanding of how we can benefit from the wisdom of this ancient tradition in a way that is deeply relevant and applicable to our experience as modern beings. Poetry and sacred music will be important components of this workshop. \nSufi Dance is the dance of unity: unity within our own selves first\, and with the outer world and “others” second. \nPaola Garcia is a Sufi dance artist certified by Persian master Rana Gorgani as a UNESCO international dance teacher. She holds a Master’s Degree in Islamic Studies from Columbia University. She is a writer\, Middle Eastern Studies researcher\, and translator. \n“Dancing is not just getting up painlessly\, like a leaf blown on the wind; dancing is when you tear your heart out and rise out of your body to hang suspended between the worlds.” –Jalal ad-Din Rumi. \nThe workshop fee is $50 until 1/11 and $60 at the door. DESCRIPTION:月例のヒーリングサークルとスーフィーダンス（旋回舞踏）のクラスを開催いたします。\n皆で集り、心の中の些細なことを取り除き、我々の心の中に存在している神を思い出しましょう。\n　　\n今月は、CRSの創設者である香咲弥須子が祈りをリードします。そしてアメリカン・スーフィー・プロジェクトの Tomchess のライブミュージックと共に冬至を迎えます。ライブミュージックでスーフィーダンスを踊ることに時間を充てましょう、本当に楽しいイベントです。ドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。\n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nそしてこの祈りを通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族をサポートします。あまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。CRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. DESCRIPTION:今年でCRSオープン以来１５回目となります、CRS恒例のホリディ・パーティーへと皆さまをご案内します。CRSのお仲間の皆さまに日頃の感謝を込めて、心温まる夜のひと時をご一緒したいと思います。パーティーは、例年通り、第一部（6−7:30 pm）と第二部 (7:30−9:30 pm）の構成になっております。今年のテーマは、『Freedom from fear of aging』。年齢や身体の状態にかかわらず、私たちは皆、お互いの光と愛を無限に経験することができます。第一部のプログラムでは、世代を超えて、ご活躍の方々をお迎えします。講演会は、日本語で行われ、英語の通訳がつきます。 \n第一部　6 – 7:30 pm：塩井純一博士講演会 & 林弘幸氏ショートインタビュー＆\n                                         一色凛 + 一色智子 母娘コンサート\n第二部　7:30 – 9:30 pm：レセプション \n第一部、塩井純一博士のミニ講演会\n「アルツハイマー病研究の現場から。～ アルツハイマー病から学ぶべきこと、得られること、私たちのこれから～」\n「癌」という言葉が暗闇の象徴だった時代が過ぎ、今は、 脳の病気、特に認知症に、関心すなわち恐怖が集中するようになりました。身近にアルツハイマー病が出現していない人を探すのが難しいくらいですし、その予防、経過、看護、介護に関する話題は連日メディアに登場しています。日々、その研究が進み、今にも暗闇に光が差し込むのではないかと、期待が膨らみ、その期待に応えてくれるような情報も氾濫していますが、さて、実際には今、アルツハイマー病研究はどんな地点にいるのでしょうか。そして、アルツハイマーを通じて、私たちは、何を学び、何を見ようとしているのでしょうか。長年、アルツハイマー研究に情熱を傾けてこられた塩井先生に、私たちの知らないアルツハイマー病研究現場のお話と、最前線にいらっしゃる先生の今後の見通しを、うかがいます。 \n続いて、基礎教育と農園作業によってタイの子どもたちに手を差し伸べる活動をコツコツとしていらっしゃる林さんに、現地映像をご覧いただきながら香咲弥須子がショートショートインタビューをします。 \nそして、一色凛さんと一色智子さんによるピアノと歌のミニコンサートをお届けします。\n一色凛（リン・マサコ・チェン）さんは、渡辺謙さんとご一緒に「王様と私」に出演し、その後は、「アニー」「セサミストリート」等で活躍する13歳です。お母様の一色智子さんは現代音楽の継承と教育に力を注ぐピアニストです。20世紀を代表する作曲家、故武満徹氏の奥様の著書『作曲家・武満徹との日々を語る』の英訳書も出版なさっています。この秋に開催したコンサート『ジョン万次郎の冒険』も素晴らしいものでした。お二人のコンビで、歌とピアノを披露してくださいます。 \nレセプションのお料理は、CRSとおつきあいの深い寿司『いなせ』から、デザートは、須之内美恵さん作でお届けいたします。 \n  \nチケット\n第一部・第二部共通：$50（12/7日までの前売り）　$60（当日・現金のみ）\n第二部のみ：$30（12/7日までの前売り）　$40（当日・現金のみ） \nご購入は、オンライン、又はお電話（212-677-8621）にて受け付けております。 \n***第一部はお席数に限りがありますので、お早めのご予約をお勧めします。\n***当日受付でのチケットのご購入は現金のみとさせていただきます。12歳以下のお子様は無料です。 \n \n塩井純一\, Ph.D.\,\n元マウント・サイナイ医学部助教授\n名古屋大学理学部旧分子生物学研究施設（現分子生物学科）にて細菌の行動を分子レベルで研究し、1971年に修士号、1978年に博士号を取得。1980年に来米、カリフォルニア州のロマ・リンダ大学医学部とミシガン州アン・ナーバーのミシガン大学医学部でポスト・ドク。1985年ロマ・リンダ大学医学部で助教授。1990年にニューヨークのマウント・サイナイ医学部に移りアルツハイマー病の分子レベル・細胞レベル基礎研究を始め、2015年末に退職。ここ数年、日本で高齢者認知症研究所を主宰する羽田野政治氏と共に電子機器・携帯機器を活用した高齢者介護のシステム開発に携わり、現在ニュージャージー・エリアでの日本人高齢者向けの在宅介護サービスを模索中。当地の日本語情報紙「ENJOY」に「認知症治療の展望、予防そして自立介護に向けて」を2017年3月号より連載執筆中。 \n林弘幸\n京都府出身。マンハッタン・ユニオンスクエアで1985年、日本食レストランを、1993年にカラオケ店を開業。2001年、クイーンズ・アストリアでコンビニ、ファミリーマーケット第一号店を開く。2011年、ミドリヤをブルックリン・ウィリアムズバーグに、今年3月、ユニオンスクエアに２店舗目を構える。本業の傍ら、タイの少数民族の子供たちの支援活動を行なっている。昨年、非営利の職業訓練施設「バーンルーン（虹の家）」を立ち上げた。 \n \nリン・マサコ・チェン（一色凛）\nニュージャージー州生まれ。9歳の時に渡辺謙主演のブロードウェイミュージカル、「王様と私」の子役の一人として一般応募を経て選ばれ、1年4ヶ月間、週に8回の公演を学校を通いながら続けた。その後、「アニー」アジアツアーの孤児の一人に抜擢され、インドネシアとシンガポールの劇場に出演した。最近では「セサミストリート」などのテレビ出演、ネットフリックスの映画に出演した。 \n一色智子 \n5歳からピアノを始める。明治大学英文学科卒。オレゴン大学ピアノ教授法修士号、ヒューストン大学ピアノ科博士号取得。最近では、現代音楽と教育を合わせたコンサート、「ジョン万次郎の冒険」を天理文化センターにて演奏し、好評を得た。毎年ピアノの生徒が各種コンクールに入賞し、リンカーンセンターやカーネギーホールで演奏している。

/移り行く自然＞を開催いたします。\n季節を通してみた自然の様子を表現した作品の数々。木漏れ日や、穏やかで優しい空、そよ風に揺れる葉などのように地球の自然な不思議や地球から届く身体に吸収されるエネルギーは豊富です。よくみるささやかな光景を私たちは当然のことのように毎日見ていますが、それが彼女の想像力を掻き立てます。どうぞこの機会に是非ご覧にいらしてください。 \nアーティストステートメント \n今回展示するこのシリーズでは、自然の雰囲気が持つエネルギーを表現しようとしています。そして、私は常に絵の中に動きを入れます。\n空、木々、地球そしてこれらの要素は、私が描きたいと思う大きな部分となりました。木漏れ日や、穏やかで優しい空、そよ風に揺れる葉などのようにその地球の自然な不思議や地球から届く身体に吸収されるエネルギーは豊富です。頻繁にみるささやかな光景を私たちは当然のことのように毎日見ていますが、それが私の想像力を掻き立てます。自然は純粋な存在だと私は信じています。そして、光が心を照らし純粋さをもたらす。\n自然の力は無限であり、その偉大さを心身ともに素晴らしいと思います。 \n経歴 \n板東綾子は、日本の徳島の田舎町に生まれ、山や川、木や花など自然の美しさに恵まれた環境で育つ。 高校を卒業した後、大阪に移り医療事務を勉強し、その後病院にて4年間勤務。 この間も、常に絵を描くということに情熱を持ち続ける。 病院を離れた後、大阪、ロンドン、東京、ニューヨークでアートを学び、米国、日本、ドイツ、イタリアの様々な場所にて作品を発表する。 2017年には東京都美術館での DESCRIPTION:毎月第三木曜日 午後7時30分より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催しています。 \nそしてこの祈りを通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族をサポートします。\nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \nドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. SUMMARY:Crossing Boundaries Concert Series Vol. 3: 7 word chanting 靈山會相 and tea ceremony
DESCRIPTION:CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) presents 7 word chanting Yeongsanhoesang 靈山會相\, featuring Korean traditional music performed by gamin (piri\, saenghwang) and Min Kyung Park(haegeum) accompanied by a tea ceremony performed by Korean tea master Sei-Ryun Chun. Following the performance\, there will be a short talk about Korean tea ceremony and Q&A with the artists. \nFor this event\, which is Vol. 3 of the Crossing Boundaries — Echoes of Korea — Concert Series curated by gamin\, she would like to introduce the Korean concept of Pungnyu\, which is defined as an artistic form of recreation incorporating elements of nature\, life\, and art. Pungnyu is intrinsic to a tasteful lifestyle and to Koreans’ collective and individual entertainment culture. It literally means “streams of wind.” Sharing tea\, playing music\, writing\, and observing the changing of the seasons are traditional pastimes used for transcending the material or secular aspects of life and cultivating a peaceful mind. Participating in a tea ceremony quiets the mind and opens the senses\, allowing us to experience more of the subtlety and depth of the music performance. \nBoth the music and tea ceremony presented in this program have been handed down to us from medieval Buddhist practices. As Buddhism in Korea fell in and out of favor through the centuries\, both the music and the tea ceremony were frequently revised to serve the times. Artists today continue to find ways to explore and extend these traditional art forms in ways that speak to the present moment and connect us not only to our heritage but to one another. \nTickets are $25 and are available online\, by phone (212-677-8621)\, and at CRS. Students/seniors with valid ID are $15 at the door. \nCROSSING BOUNDARIES — ECHOES OF KOREA\, curated by gamin (piri\, taepyeonso\, saenghwang)\, provides musicians from Korea with space to experiment with the new\, to collaborate across genres\, cultures and disciplines\, and to explore new ways of using creative communication to facilitate a shared practice of presence. The goal is to dissolve boundaries between performers and audiences\, the traditional and contemporary\, classical and experimental\, Korea and the world. Participants in the series are encouraged to incorporate meditation\, improvisation\, and collaborations with visual and movement-based artists as well as musical artists from different traditions. \nAbout the Program \nTea ceremony by Sei-Ryun Chun\nPiri & saenghwang played by gamin\nHaegeum played by Min Kyung Park \nOriginally a vocal piece with lyrics drawing on the words of the Buddha’s sermon in Mount Yeongsan\, India\, Yeongsanhoesang became purely instrumental in the 15th century. The music has undergone continuous change with the current version taking form sometime in the 19th century. There are many versions of the suite\, which typically includes 8–9 pieces. While the genesis of the suite is not completely certain\, the first piece of the suite\, “Sangryeongsan” appears to be the foundation for the suite. The following pieces in the suite include variations on “Sangryeongsan\,” as well as standard musical forms and dance pieces of the Joseon era (1392-1910). “Sangryeongsan\,” the slowest and longest piece in the suite\, progresses gracefully and gently like the flow of water. \nThe Korean tea ceremony is distinguished by its emphasis on preparing and enjoying tea with a natural manner and minimum of ritualized formality. Originally\, it was directly connected with Buddhist practices\, but today it can be enjoyed by everyone. Cha (tea) was introduced to Korea around the 6th or 7th century from China. Some Korean scholars or Buddhist monks who traveled to China probably brought tea with them and began to drink in Korea. In the Goryeo dynasty (918-1392)\, Korean tea culture became popular with the rise of Buddhism as a national religion. During the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910)\, the Korean tea culture declined as Confucianism replaced Buddhism as a spiritual mainstream. Buddhism was repressed and became separated from the public. In the early 19th century\, a leading Korean philosopher\, Dasan Jeong Yakyong (1762-1836)\, and the Korean Buddhist Seon (Zen) master Chou Uisun (1786-1866)\, known as the “Father of Korean Tea\,” played key roles in reviving the long lost Korean tea tradition\, which continues today. \nAbout the Artists \nTea master Sei Ryun Chun was born in Busan\, Korea in 1956 and grew up in an artistic family. Majoring in fine art at Kunkuk University in 1979\, she studied sculpture and painting. After graduation\, she taught at Shinjung middle and high schools. In 1981\, she moved to America and studied etching at the New Milford Art Center in New Jersey and New York University in New York. She has also written extensively about art. She received the AHL Foundation artist’s prize in 2000. She has had 14 solo exhibitions and participated in the Miami Art Fair and Fine Art Fair San Francisco. She has been curating exhibitions in New York and New Jersey. She is currently incorporating her mastery of the traditional Korean tea ceremony into her exhibitions and presentations. seiryunchun.com \ngamin is a master practitioner of the piri\, taepyongso (double reed instruments)\, and saenghwang (reed mouth organ). Currently\, as a yisuja(designated master) of the Important Intangible Cultural Asset No.46 for piri court music and Daechita\, she strives to both preserve and enhance traditional Korean music. In 2005\, Hiroki Otsuka’s focus shifted from graphic to fine arts\, working predominantly with traditional sumi ink used in Japanese calligraphy. Hiroki Otsuka’s debut solo show at Brooklyn’s Stay Gold Gallery in 2005 prompted The New Yorker to write that his works “push the populist youth quotient through the roof.” Since then\, his work has appeared in galleries throughout the United States and Japan\, and has been featured in international art fairs in New York\, Tokyo and Basel\, Switzerland. He’s been exhibited at major art institutions such as The Museum of Contemporary Art\, Los Angeles (Nothing Moments\, 2007) and in academic settings such as Pittsburgh University Art Gallery (Making Faces: Depiction of Women in Japan from Edo to Today\, 2009). In 2007\, Hiroki Otsuka was featured in Japan Society’s centennial exhibition Making a Home\, curated by Eric C. Shiner\, that highlighted 33 Japanese contemporary artists living and working in New York. Berlin’s Kunstraum Richard Sorge held a major exhibition of Hiroki Otsuka’s paintings and murals in 2009 entitled Everything to More. The same year\, Otsuka provided the integrated illustrations for choreographer Jeremy Wade’s critically acclaimed multimedia dance there is no end to more\, a Japan Society commission which had its world premiere in New York in December 2009. In the Tale of Genji\, the masterwork of 11th century literature\, a cat sets the plot in motion by knocking over a screen\, and the moment has been captured time and again in prints and paintings. With the arrival of ukiyo-e\, the woodblock printing style of the 17th century\, the homes of Japan became populated by the world’s first great wave of cat art\, featuring the animals both in their natural form and walking upright in kimonos. Perhaps it is not surprising that Hello Kitty\, the most famous illustrated feline\, also comes from Japan. \nHiroki Otsuka’s work consistently mixes the media and methods of high and popular art. In “Ne-Ko\,” which means cat in Japanese\, he approaches this time-honored subject. Otsuka uses the traditional\, black-ink style of sumi painting to capture the animals’ pose and self-possession. Paola has performed in different spaces in New York City\, including the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine\, Alwan for the Arts\, Mana Contemporary\, The Outlet Dance Project\, and Brooklyn Studio for Dance. She is a graduate of Columbia Law School\, a writer\, researcher and translator presently finishing a Master’s in Islamic Studies at Columbia University. SUMMARY:Sufi Dance Class with Lâle Sayoko
DESCRIPTION:Learn the ancient practice of meditative whirling known as Sufi dance or Sema (Sama in Iranian). You will learn the techniques of whirling\, but Sema is not about reproducing a certain form or aesthetic. Rather\, the technique serves as a vehicle for inner journeying. Sema means spiritual listening. Together we’ll create a sacred space in which we can safely listen to and share our true selves and experience oneness with the Divine. \nEach class consists of some explanation of the theory and technique\, exercises\, practice whirling\, and sharing and discussion of what you experienced and felt. \nWhirling commonly induces dizziness or nausea. Over time\, through whirling\, we learn to trust ourselves to go off balance\, to be dizzy\, to surrender control. We empty our minds of all thoughts of the individual self as we give ourselves over to prayer and connect with a greater power\, the still center within\, around which we turn. Into this emptiness floods a divine fullness\, which sometimes gives rise to a state known as “mystical intoxication\,” a reflection of knowing and experiencing that you and I and the Divine are One. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing (white\, gray or black color is preferable\, avoiding prints and shiny material which might distract the eye while whirling) and wear socks or soft soled shoes. If you have a whirling skirt and/or a frame drum\, please feel free to bring it. Since 2000\, she has made her creative home in New York City. Lulla LayLa’s music has Japanese traditional elements combined with a psychedelic/contemporary world folk sensibility. Her music delivers haunting piano ballads about love and many other subjects. Since 2017\, she has also been composing songs with and accompany herself on the Kurdish tanbur. With this instrument\, her sound takes on an even more exotic folk sensibility. The theme of her songs/poems never changes\, but when writing for tanbur she does utilize a more simplified lyric with a repetitive structure that will leave a magical impression on your heart. You may also find these songs to be influenced by Sufi music. On several occasions audience members from different parts of the world have said to Lulla LayLa\, ” Your music makes me nostalgic because your music seems like my country’s music\,” even though she was not familiar with or hadn’t heard their country’s songs. Lulla LayLa says\, “We all know that the original songwriter of all lyrics and music is one\, as we all know that our original home country is one.” \nMaria Primavera de Jerez: Flamenco based music\, vocals and guitar\nMaria was born in Puerto de Santa María and grew up in Jerez de la Frontera\, the mecca of Flamenco\, Andalucía. She lived in Paris for seven years where she studied theater. Then she moved to New York where she began her career as a flamenco singer and as an actress. Maria has been singing and playing guitar since she was 12 and has been accompanied by great musicians. She has performed in public places such as Grand Central Station in NYC and an array of theaters in the U.S. such as La Mama Etc. in NYC\, as well as in Europe. She won an award as the most promising Latin actress in NYC. Maria has recently resumed her career as a singer and performer after spending some years in Andalucia getting back to her family and roots. \nRaif Hyseni: Albanian accordion player\nRaif Hyseni is the most famous Albanian accordion player in the world. Born in the town of Mitrovica\, Republic of Kosovo\, he went to elementary music school in Mitrovica\, then to music high school\, and to the Academy of Performing Arts\, at the University of Kosovo. He graduated from Caldwell College and got his Masters from Montclair State University in New Jersey. He is the founder of the first and only Albanian Balkan Ensemble in the USA where he works as an Adjunct Professor. As a young accordion player he performed for the Albanian National Radio and TV. Raif performed with maestro violin-player Isak Mucolli. DESCRIPTION:CRSギャラリーでは、鞍井綾音の油絵による個展「 Small Voyage」を9月6日から10月20日まで開催いたします。\nオープニングレセプションは9月13日（木）6時30分より8時30分まで。予約不要、入場無料ですので大勢のご参加をお待ちしています。 \nこの展覧会の作品は、CRSが今まで展示してきたものと比べて大きいものの、彼女が描いたものの中では小さな作品です。幾重にも層を重ね、重々しくテクスチャーを施したこれらの表現主義的な油絵は、主題と抽象度が作品により異なります。\n彼女の作品を際立たせるのは、強烈な色とテクスチャー、色彩の喚起の緊迫感と十分に経験を積んだ人生の質感です。\n彼女にとって、CRSでは2回目の個展になります。 第一回目は2010年の「Yukoの春が来ました」。彼女の第一子の幼少期、第二子の誕生期に創作されたものですが、それは、友人でアーティストのYuko Sueta (末田裕子）の闘病を支えていた時期とも重なり、看取るまでの数年間、展示会をすることができませんでした。この個展を機に活動を増やし、その後数々の展示会で新しい作品を着実に発表してきました。 \n写真ーWomen March 2018 copyright © 2018 by Ayane Kurai. \n鞍井綾音 \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nAyane Kurai was born in 1969 in Hyogo\, Japan. In 1988 she entered the department of paintings\, College of Art and Design\, Musashino Art University in Tokyo. She has been living and working in New York City since 1990. DESCRIPTION:CRSギャラリーでは、鞍井綾音の油絵による個展「 Small Voyage」を9月6日から10月20日まで開催いたします。\nオープニングレセプションは9月13日（木）6時30分より8時30分まで。予約不要、入場無料ですので大勢のご参加をお待ちしています。 \nこの展覧会の作品は、CRSが今まで展示してきたものと比べて大きいものの、彼女が描いたものの中では小さな作品です。幾重にも層を重ね、重々しくテクスチャーを施したこれらの表現主義的な油絵は、主題と抽象度が作品により異なります。\n彼女の作品を際立たせるのは、強烈な色とテクスチャー、色彩の喚起の緊迫感と十分に経験を積んだ人生の質感です。\n彼女にとって、CRSでは2回目の個展になります。 第一回目は2010年の「Yukoの春が来ました」。彼女の第一子の幼少期、第二子の誕生期に創作されたものですが、それは、友人でアーティストのYuko Sueta (末田裕子）の闘病を支えていた時期とも重なり、看取るまでの数年間、展示会をすることができませんでした。この個展を機に活動を増やし、その後数々の展示会で新しい作品を着実に発表してきました。 \n写真ーWomen March 2018 copyright © 2018 by Ayane Kurai. \n鞍井綾音 \nABOUT THE ARTIST\nAyane Kurai was born in 1969 in Hyogo\, Japan. SUMMARY:CRS Healing Circle: 音と旋舞のメディテーション
DESCRIPTION:8月16日（木） 午後7時30分より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nそしてこの祈りを通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族をサポートします。\nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \nドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance.
