DESCRIPTION:4月19日（木） 午後7時30分より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nニューヨーク時間4月19日午前4時33分、私たちのお仲間、Kimi- Tea Tsukada さんがロサンゼルスでお亡くなりになりました。数日前、香咲弥須子との電話での会話で、キミちゃんは「もう何もかもどうでもよくなる辛さの中で、昔からどんなに大勢が辛さを抱えてきたかに思い至った。その人たちに繋がって、その人たちのために私がここにいるのじゃないかと気づいた」と話してくれました。\nキミちゃんの周りには、キミちゃんを愛する友人が何人もいて、キミちゃんの旅立ちの時を皆が敏感に受け取り、最期の日々ずっと近くに寄り添ってくれていました。NYから友人もいないLAに移住してすぐ発病したkimiちゃんは、NYの大勢と最後まで人生を共にし、そしてまた、世界中の「祈りの輪」のお仲間と繋がって、「本当に幸せだ」とも話していました。闘病しながらたくさん作品を創り、CRSでの個展も実現してくれました。キミちゃんから私たちが受け取ったものは計り知れません。\n4月19日木曜日、LA時間6:30 pm\, NY時間9:30 pm、日本時間4月20日10:30 am、ドバイ、ヨーロッパ、、、「祈りの輪」の皆が、世界中で一斉に祈りを捧げます。 \nCRS Healing Circle：音と旋舞のメディテーションは４月19日午後7:30から、パリからスーフィマスターRANA（http://www.ranagorgani.com/）をお迎えして、Lale Sayokoさんを中心に、旋回をしながら祈ります。祈りは、香咲弥須子が導き、佐藤みよ子のクリスタルシンギングボウル演奏で行われます。どうぞ皆さん、ご参加ください。どなたも歓迎です。 \nそして今回も、この祈りを通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族をサポートします。\nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \nドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. SUMMARY:Song and Sound: Meditation and Listening Journey
DESCRIPTION:CRS invites you to the next installment of our meditation and live music series with singer/songwriter/trumpeter Rhys Tivey & friends (vocalist Joy Elysse and guitarist Thomas Monkell). These are their first full-band shows since June\, so they’ll be playing some new songs\, many of which were first written at Hawthorne Valley Farm this past summer. \nThe program will take place in the award-winning White Room at CRS on Friday\, March 16\, 2018 at 6 pm. Tickets are $20 and are available by phone (212-677-8621)\, online and at the door. \nOut of the deep relaxation and stillness of meditation\, Rhys Tivey and friends tap into the healing qualities of music and storytelling to perform a careful selection of originals and cover songs and lead participants on a folk-fusion song journey. This concert is an opportunity for participants to connect within themselves\, and with one another through sharing before and after\, and with the experience of song-listening. \nJoy Elysse is a Brooklyn-based vocalist and composer who creates cinematic\, genre-bending music. After receiving her BA in English Literature from Princeton University\, Elysse has subsequently spent her time in NYC exploring wide-ranging sounds and styles while performing in jazz\, folk\, indie-soul\, and psychedelic salsa groups. She’s taken cues from these many influences to develop an eclectic\, yet fundamentally emotive songwriting style propelled by her passion for words and imagery. DESCRIPTION:3月10日（土）午後8時より、CRS＆一音一会共催による「Remembering 3/11- CRS ヒーリングサークル・宮城県石巻へのサポート」と題した慈善イベントを行います。 \n2011年3月11日に起きた東日本大震災にて被災を受けた東北地方の人々と、どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈り続けていることをこのイベントを通じて、再確認したいと思います。東北の人々の無限の強さと愛を思い、歌い、踊り、演奏し、鼓舞しながら、大きな輪になって集まります。誰もがこのサークルに参加することができます。ドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。\nこのサークルでは、経験を問わず、どなたでも愛を同じように分かち合うことができます。\n自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。\nLale Sayoko (Bella Gaia) 、 Shoko Tamai ( Ninja Ballet )によるダンスパフォーマンス、 Saco Yasuma & Sakurako Kataoka、LayLa Lulla、 Kana Kamitsubo Markovic によるミュージカルアクト公演も行われます。  \n参加費は$20（ドネーション制、さらなる寄付も大歓迎です！）。参加費100%全てを宮城県石巻市雄勝町にある非営利団体 “O-Link House” へ寄付いたします。O-Link House では会議場、カルチャースクール、展示やイベント企画、上映会など様々な用途に対応し、人々のコミュニティーを繋げる拠点となることを目指している団体です。地盤沈下により低地が津波危険区域に指定されたことで、仮設住宅が離れた地区ごとに建てられ、昔から続いていた一部のコミュニティーは分散されています。こうした状況を背景に、2012年8月より、コミュニティースペース「O-link House」の建設が始まりました。https://www.o-link.org\nまた、このイベントの前（午後6～8時）には、次回のCRSギャラリーアーティスト・Janet  Morganによる “ The Color of Energy — Recent Paintings “ のオープニングレセプション（無料）も行われます。ヒーリングサークルの前にワインを片手にアーティストと団欒されてはいかがですか？\n予約不要。

DESCRIPTION:CRS ギャラリーでは、「The Color of Energy 」と題しまして、Janet Morganによるペインティングを3月10日から5月8日まで展示いたします。\nまた、3月10日、6時から8時に彼女を迎えてのオープニングレセプションを行いますので、是非ご参加ください。 \nARTIST STATEMENT \nWe think of our bodies as solid\, enclosed\, finite\, self sufficient\, contained. But we share many things\, visible and not\, with the world around us. We share energy of all kinds with other beings\, plants\, machines\, nature and the cosmos. We take for granted our life partner — our physical being — who makes life possible and carries us through this world for decades and sometimes for a century. We move not through the world but as part of it\, sharing breath\, resources\, spirit and life energy. \nMy artwork is grounded in the body\, the kinesthetic: movement\, music\, and dance — and in the body’s subtle forces — emotional\, spiritual and healing energies. The quest for the underlying energy source runs through all of my work — like the Sufis I find no separation between the divine and the body. And why is this work be important? We live in a time of much anger and violence\, and communication is often disembodied. The disconnect between ourselves and the natural world is causing serious problems. We need to come home to our bodies\, our animal-ness\, our human-ness\, our body-temples. \nMy artistic practice covers a vast range of work\, mainly painting and drawing\, but also community environmental art and collaboration. The art includes landscapes painted all over the world\, and a few large series of works grounded in the body: 200 large watercolors of traditional and new deities (I teach a workshop on making your own deities)\, wild women\, dancers and now art about the body’s energy. I have enjoyed collaborations with dancers\, scientists\, movement teachers\, and writers. I have taught at the Rubin Museum of Art\, The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors\, the Art Students League and the Canyons of Utah. \nhttp://www.janetmorgan-art.net

DESCRIPTION:2月19日(月) 午後7時30分より、CRS主催による「  Remembering Executive Order 9066 and American’s WWII Era Concentration Camps -第二次世界大戦時の日系人強制収容キャンプの記憶-」と題した無料イベントを開催いたします。 \n第二次世界大戦時の1942年2月19日にアメリカ第26代大統領フランクリン・ルーズベルトが署名・発令した「大統領令（Executive Order 9066）」により、特定地域を軍管理地域に指定する権限が陸軍長官へ与えられ、結果として「大統領令」は日系人強制収容キャンプへ道を開くことになりました。それから76年の年を経て、語り継がれるその時の記憶。このイベントでは日系人強制収容キャンプを題材に作られたダンス作品を池田薫氏率いるMoustacheCat Dance、写真展をNY Day of Remembrance Committeeメンバーである本田スタン氏、ショートビデオ上映を中馬ヨシコ氏率いるThe school of Hard Knocks [SOHK]により行います。 他にもスピーカーを追加予定。あまり知られてこなかった日系人とアメリカの歴史を、ぜひ今一度胸に刻みましょう。 \n2018 is also the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988\, the legislation that provided a formal apology from the US government and monetary reparations to survivors of the forced evacuation and mass incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. \nMoustacheCat Dance will present a short excerpt of its work-in-progress “Freedom isn’t Free\,” an evening length work that explores the biased reactions that resulted in the interning of tens of thousands of American residents and citizens during World War II. The work also reflects on current biased reactions to people of various races\, religions\, and ethnicities in the United States. The excerpt that we will see expresses Japanese Americans’ struggle to resist anti-Japanese American agitation and laws that called for their imprisonment. \nStan Honda will present images from a new book\, Moving Walls: The Barracks of America’s Concentration Camps (available for purchase and signing) that was done in collaboration with author Sharon Yamato and will preview the New York Day of Remembrance Committees’ Feb. 24 program. \nYoshiko Chuma and The school of Hard Knocks will show about 15 minutes of video consisting of several sequences created by Megumi Eda using footage from her time with SOHK and additional recent documentation of SOHK work in Las Vegas related to the National Atomic Testing Musuem. Following tonight’s screening\, Eda will share her experiences making this work. \nMoustacheCat Dance has been working on “Freedom isn’t Free” since 2014. The work originated as a short solo dedicated to Japanese Americans who were sent to the camps. Currently\, the company is in the process expanded it into an evening-length group piece to inspire audiences\, through dance\, to think about how we can make this world a better place together. The full work will premiere May 10 – 12\, 2018 at University Settlement in NYC. \n \nYoshiko Chuma and the School of Hard Knocks in NYC has continued seeking and creating visible and invisible performances for more than 40 years. Dancer/choreographer/filmmaker Megumi Eda\, a new core member of The School of Hard Knocks since 2014\, has been filming much of the company’s work and editing the footage into unique creations. \n \nSTAN HONDA is a New York-based photographer and worked as a photojournalist for 34 years\, most recently for Agence France-Presse (AFP)\, the French news agency. He covered a wide range of topics including news events\, politics\, economics\, sports and human interest stories. Photographing the space shuttle program for five years was a highlight of his time at AFP since he has been following the space program since childhood. Personal projects include documenting the U.S. concentration camps where Japanese Americans were incarcerated during World War II\, his parents and relatives among those held. Photos of the sites and survivors can be seen in the Internment Camp section of his web site. A continuing project involves night sky landscapes\, combining his long time interest in astronomy and photography. He has worked as an artist-in-residence at five national parks: the Grand Canyon\, Petrified Forest\, Wupatki in Arizona\, Rocky Mountain in Colorado and Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico\, photographing the sky and the landscape with the aim of helping preserve our view of the night sky. Photography of Chaco Culture and Wuptaki helped both parks being designated as International Dark Sky Parks. He manages to photograph celestial events even from New York City. http://www.stanhonda.com \nKAORU IKEDA\, dancer\, choreographer and founder of MoustacheCat Dance\, is originally from Osaka\, Japan where she had Classic Ballet Training at Homura Tomoi Ballet Company School and became one of the selected student members to perform in the Japanese premier of “La Bayadçre” and in other productions with the ballet company. After she had a long break from dance\, during which time she played percussion and won a gold prize in percussion ensemble\, she decided to go back and dedicate her life to dance. Ms. Ikeda graduated from Nihon University with a BA in Dance. While living in Tokyo\, Japan\, she had the honor to work with important Japanese dance choreographers. She earned an MFA in Dance at New York University\, Tisch School of the Arts\, where her major performances included Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane’s “Continuous Replay.” Ms. Ikeda has trained\, performed\, and choreographed work that has been described as “perfectly realized dance” (offoffoffdance\, 2005) and “moving poetry” (Eyes on Arts\, 2012)\, and she has taught dance ranging from classical ballet to Butoh to modern dance. Her work has taken her to the US\, Japan\, South Korea\, and Mexico. As a dancer\, Ms. Ikeda has worked with LIFEDANCE/Gloria McLean and Dancers\, Jeramy Zimeramen/CatScratch Theatre\, Laura Shapiro/quicksilverdance\, Aviva Geismar/Drastic Action\, and Natsu Nakajima/Mutekisya. In 2015\, Ms. Ikeda founded a dance company “MoustacheCat Dance” to present her voice and fight against prejudice through dance. \nMOUSTACHECAT DANCE was founded by Kaoru Ikeda in 2015 to fight against prejudice through dance. In early 2015\, the 70th anniversary of the end of World War Ⅱ\, Ms. Ikeda started working on a project based on the history of Japanese American Internment Camps during the war\, to dedicate to Japanese Americans who were sent to the camps. However\, the more she researched\, she faced the reality that there are so many types of prejudice all over the word. It could come from one’s skin color\, religion\, culture\, and belief. There is a tendency to make a judgment about people based on difference without knowing anything about the other. This generates prejudice. In order not to make the same mistakes over and over\, Ms. Ikeda realized that we must learn from history and respect each other so that we can make a better future. MoustacheCat Dance has a very wide range of projects. It is inspired by local and global situation and historical events that demonstrate immorality and injustice. She appeared successfully in the Prix de Lausanne Competition in 1991 and was invited to join the Hamburg Ballet School\, where soon after she joined the company working with Mats Ek and choreographer/director John Neumeier. The report\, submitted exactly one month before Pearl Harbor was bombed\, found that\, “There will be no armed uprising of Japanese” in the United States. “For the most part\,” the Munson Report said\, “the local Japanese are loyal to the United States or\, at worst\, hope that by remaining quiet they can avoid concentration camps or irresponsible mobs.” A second investigation started in 1940\, written by Naval Intelligence officer Kenneth Ringle and submitted in January 1942\, likewise found no evidence of fifth column activity and urged against mass incarceration. DESCRIPTION:CRSのお仲間へ \n12月21日（木） 午後7時より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族、そして私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \nドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. She began her piano study by the age of three. During her childhood\, she spent most of the time playing her piano by improvising and composing. Her favorite thing was to reflect the energy around her (energy of her home\, family\, people who visited her) on her improvisation and she would improvise endlessly without knowing it was a very special talent she was given. As her piano study became more serious\, she stopped playing freely but started to focus on “what others would think is good” by following her piano teachers’ advise. At 19 years old\, she felt extremely detached from music and struggled. \nThen\, she decided to study jazz piano. At 20 years old\, she met her piano teacher\, Takeshi\, who told her\, “Listen to the music inside of you first\, and strike the keys to play the melody you just heard.”He taught the importance of being authentic in the music and following where the music wants to go instead of thinking what to play. In order to fully understand his words and also master this\, Kana started to record herself at every single opportunity (practicing\, rehearsal\, performances)\, listening to the recordings\, and taking notes on what she was feeling/thinking when she played and how it affected her music. After years of doing this practice\, she has concluded that when ego takes over\, the music loses its life; when she listens to the spirit and plays music with it\, the music spreads love and she is able to connect with others. This has become her philosophy as a musician. \nAt age 25\, she was awarded a Berklee World Scholarship and moved to Boston to further study piano performance and music therapy. There\, her approach was validated when\, as a music therapy student\, she began working with individuals with disabilities. She cultivated her clinical skills based on her philosophy and was recognized by Berklee College of Music for demonstrating extraordinary therapeutic musical skills. As a result\, she received numerous awards and after graduating was hired by Berklee to help develop their “Clinical Music Improvisation” curriculum. \nAs a licensed clinician\, she has worked with diverse populations including children with special needs and has developed her own method that has been proven to be effective for children with autism spectrum disorder. While she works as an active music therapist\, she also composes and performs with her husband as an acoustic duo unit called Yagull. The past few years\, Kana started to study A Course in Miracles (ACIM) with Yasuko Kasaki and Naoko Ono. Kana has discovered that the process of improvising (listening to the music inside of her mind and then striking the keys to play the music she heard) mirrors ACIM’s direction to listen to our inner voice. \nYasuko Kasaki strongly advised Kana to perform for others more actively. Kana further cultivates her spirituality and musicality and realized that creating music with others (by reflecting the energy around her) is a very special ability she has been given. Now Kana knows that she wants to devote her life to sharing it. \nhttp://www.hugmusicny.com\nhttp://www.yagull.com \n上坪可奈 / ピアニスト、音楽療法士、音楽講師 \n米国音楽療法士資格認定委員会認定音楽療法士(MT-BC) \n神戸出身。3歳よりピアノを始める。\n大阪音楽大学短期大学部器楽学科を卒業。甲陽音楽学院にて竹下清志、浜村昌子に師事しジャズピアノと理論を勉強。奨学金を得て2003年9月よりボストンのBerklee College of Music（バークリー音楽院）へ留学。2004年より音楽療法学部に在籍。成績と活躍が認められ、同学部よりKoster Insurance Award(2005年度)、そして学部最高賞であるGary Burton Music Therapy Scholarship(2006年度)を受賞。バークリー音楽院を首席で卒業。 \n２００７年よりNYにて音楽療法士として子供を対象に音楽療法セッション、ピアノ講師としてピアノレッスンや音楽のクラスを行っている。ピアノ講師としては１５年以上の経験を持ち、２−５歳のグループレッスン、個人レッスンでは、クラシックピアノ、ジャズピアノ、即興などを子供から大人まで多数の生徒に教える。 \n音楽療法士としては、主に２つの分野で高い評価を得ている。多数の自閉症(ASD)やADD\,ADHDの子供達を対象にNYの音楽療法施設などで経験を積んだ後、２００８年にスペシャルニーズの子供のための独自の音楽メソッド（後にMusicreativeと呼ばれる）を発案し、それを実践し始めたところ、音楽スキルの向上だけではなく、子供達の集中力が飛躍的に向上、問題行動が激減、学習能力の向上、コミュニケーションのスキルの向上 などの効果が見られ、音楽療法の分野でも注目を浴びるようになる。２０１０年にボストンで開催された “Autism Speaks and Sings”シンポジウムではパネリストとして招待され、そこで生徒の一人のケーススタディを紹介したところ、彼女のメソッドの効果が非常に高い事が本格的に音楽療法の分野で認められる。パネリストの一人、音楽療法学会（CBMT）理事長であり、自閉症＆アメリカミュージックセラピー学会理事長Darcy Walworth\, PhD\, MT-BC\nからは 「この可奈の革新的なアプローチは音楽療法、音楽教育、養護教育の分野において高く評価される価値があり、このメソッドを使って学んだ可奈生徒達への効果は、通常自閉症の子供に期待される効果の範囲を飛躍的に上回っています。」という賛辞を受ける。その後、ケーススタディがImagine（アメリカ音楽療法アソシエーションが発行するオンラインマガジン）で出版される。続いてアメリカ、タイ、日本などでプレゼンテーションやワークショップを行ったり、文献を発表したりしている。また別の分野では、音楽療法において最も効果的で大切な技術の一つとされているクリニカルインプロビゼーション（臨床で使う即興演奏のテクニック）の技術が非常に高い事も認められ、母校バークリー音楽院から依頼を受け、同学院の修士号(Master’s degree)のクラスの一つである「クリニカルインプロビゼーション」クラスのカリキュラム執筆を担う。 \nピアニストしては、夫のサシャ•マルコビックとともにYagullというアコースティックユニットで活動。ソロピアノや即興演奏者としても活動している。

DESCRIPTION:CRSのお仲間へ \n11月16日（木） 午後8時より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族、そして私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \n今月はサウンドヒーラーの西村千子さん、佐藤みよ子さんが不在に加え、小夜子さんも遅れて来るため、ミュージシャンのやすま・さこさん、CRSヒーラーのクリストファー・ペルハムがはじめの１時間のサウンド・ガイド瞑想、旋舞をリードいたします。ドラムや笛、チャイムなどの楽器をお持ちの方は是非お持ちください。経験不問。自分自身を解放し、お互いを受け入れることを学びながら、潜在的にもともとはひとつだったことを共に思い出しましょう。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回り始めると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感できるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. In the late 80’s he was one of the founders of the Zone\, a artist collective occupying an abandoned warehouse at 104 South 4th St\, in Williamsburg\, Brooklyn. Fiore showed at the East Village’s KOAP gallery in the early 90’s and in 1995 directed the underground documentary Trip and Go Naked\, winner of the Excellence in Sexual Theater award at Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show. He went on to direct the feature documentary Backstage for Miramax\, a behind the scenes look at Jay Z’s Hard Knock Life Tour. The film had a profitable run in theaters and is still occasionally in rotation on the Showtime network 17 years after it was made. Fiore has also directed documentaries on the making of the Victoria’s Secret Christmas Catalog\, the band Paramore\, as well as two prime time specials for Fox Television. His most recent documentary\, Goodwoman\, tells the story of Debra Goodman\, an activist brutally arrested for filming the NYPD. Featured in several film festivals\, Goodwoman won the Grand Jury Award at the 2016 LA Film Invasion film festival. He’s currently directing a documentary and web series on artist Ken Hiratsuka. \nFiore’s first feature film script\, The Utopia Virus\, was a finalist in the Final Draft Big Break Competition\, garnering him representation and a Hollywood roller coaster ride as the directors Darron Aronofsky\, Tony Scott\, and Renny Harlin considered making the film. He also wrote the Wassup Obama ad\, described by Salon.com as one of the most creative of the 2008 presidential campaign and winner of a Cannes Lion. He’s currently working on a series of film treatments for a Beijing based production company. \nFiore’s film work has directly influenced his art over the years\, in his use of appropriated imagery\, presentation of sequential images\, and in the cinematically dynamic composition of his mosaic photography. DESCRIPTION:CRS presents an evening of Action Theater Improvisation by former CRS teachers and longtime performance collaborators Heather Harpham and Cassie Tunick. Their improvisations play in a highly physical realm and incorporate vocalization and speech to conjure surreal yet utterly immediate worlds. Evoking humor and pathos\, Harpham and Tunick masterfully explore human experience through relationship and metaphoric image. \nThe performance will take place on Saturday\, October 21\, 2017 at 7:30 pm in the CRS Studio. There will be no late seating at this performance. \nAction Theater is a training system in physical theater improvisation that builds vocal\, verbal\, and physical performance skills\, hones awareness and increases expressive range. In the late 80’s he was one of the founders of the Zone\, a artist collective occupying an abandoned warehouse at 104 South 4th St\, in Williamsburg\, Brooklyn. Fiore showed at the East Village’s KOAP gallery in the early 90’s and in 1995 directed the underground documentary Trip and Go Naked\, winner of the Excellence in Sexual Theater award at Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show. He went on to direct the feature documentary Backstage for Miramax\, a behind the scenes look at Jay Z’s Hard Knock Life Tour. The film had a profitable run in theaters and is still occasionally in rotation on the Showtime network 17 years after it was made. Fiore has also directed documentaries on the making of the Victoria’s Secret Christmas Catalog\, the band Paramore\, as well as two prime time specials for Fox Television. His most recent documentary\, Goodwoman\, tells the story of Debra Goodman\, an activist brutally arrested for filming the NYPD. Featured in several film festivals\, Goodwoman won the Grand Jury Award at the 2016 LA Film Invasion film festival. He’s currently directing a documentary and web series on artist Ken Hiratsuka. \nFiore’s first feature film script\, The Utopia Virus\, was a finalist in the Final Draft Big Break Competition\, garnering him representation and a Hollywood roller coaster ride as the directors Darron Aronofsky\, Tony Scott\, and Renny Harlin considered making the film. He also wrote the Wassup Obama ad\, described by Salon.com as one of the most creative of the 2008 presidential campaign and winner of a Cannes Lion. He’s currently working on a series of film treatments for a Beijing based production company. \nFiore’s film work has directly influenced his art over the years\, in his use of appropriated imagery\, presentation of sequential images\, and in the cinematically dynamic composition of his mosaic photography. DESCRIPTION:CRSのお仲間へ \n10月12日（木） 午後8時より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族、そして私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \n祈りはCRSのヒーラー・佐藤みよ子のクリスタル・シンギング・ボウルの演奏から始まり、西村千子さんたちによるパーカッションのライブ演奏で音と心の輪を広げていきます。CRSのヒーラーであり「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」をリードしている小野永保子の祈りと共に、あまらちゃんの母でパフォーマンスアーティストでもある、ラーレ小夜子さんリードのもと、皆で旋舞をします。小夜子さんは、あまらちゃんへの祈りと自身の踊りの練習を結びつける動きを探求しつづけてきました。経験は問わず、どなたでも自由に参加できます。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回りはじめると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感することができるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. DESCRIPTION:10月のコンサートは、清虚洞一絃琴宗家四代　峯岸一水さんによる一絃琴と、ラルフ・サミュエルソン、エリザベス・ブラウン二人の尺八奏者をお迎えします。\n一絃琴とは、もともと高僧・貴族・武士・文人達によって主に精神修養のために弾かれた楽器で、一本の絃だけの琴で「人に聴かせるためではなく、自分の心のために演奏するもの」としてたしなわれていました。\n今回のプログラムは古典とともに新曲が演奏され、そのなかには、短歌をもとに、2011年の東日本大震災の遺族へ捧げる、Elizabeth Brown作曲の「秋廻り来て」も含まれます。心の琴線に触れる尺八・ 一弦琴のコラボレーションの響きを、どうぞお楽しみ下さい。 \nチケットは9/30日までのご購入で $20、当日 $25です。オンライン、 またはお電話（212-677-8621）でも受け付けています。 \nIdeally\, this music is heard in a tranquil setting conducive to calm\, focused listening. The ichigenkin’s philosophy of “one string” is a natural partner to the “one note” aesthetic of the shakuhachi\, and while the shakuhachi is becoming more familiar to audiences around the world\, opportunities to hear the ichigenkin are truly rare. Largely through the efforts of Minegishi Issui\, the ichigenkin is gradually finding a new place in contemporary Japan and abroad. This trio of musicians\, two from America and one from Japan\, presents numerous concerts in Japan. Now they are bringing knowledge of these beautiful instruments and their music to an American audience. \nThis concert is part of a 12-stop U.S. tour. This project is supported in part by IMJS: Japanese Cultural Heritage Initiatives and by the Japan Foundation. \n \n\n  \nAbout the Performers \nMinegishi Issui is the 4th Iemoto\, or heir\, of the Seikyo-do Ichigenkin Tradition. The Seikyo-do follows the idea of Zen practice\, which removes all unnecessary vanities. She was trained by her great-grandmother\, the 3rd heiress\, an officially designated Intangible Cultural Treasure of Japan. Minegishi Issui succeeded to the title of 4th Iemoto in 1988\, and was honored as Graduate of the NHK Conservatory of Japanese Traditional Music. She has performed around the world. At her 2008 Kioi Hall concert in Japan\, she was honored with the presence of Her Majesty the Empress of Japan\, Michiko. Minegishi Issui won the bronze prize in the division “1-2 string musical instruments” at Delphic 2009 (The Art and Cultural Olympic Games) in Jeju\, Korea. She received Asian Cultural Council grants in 2010 and in 2013. \nRalph Samuelson\, a performer and teacher of the Japanese bamboo flute\, shakuhachi\, was trained in the classical tradition of the Kinko School of shakuhachi by the late Living National Treasure Goro Yamaguchi as well as by Shudo Yamato and Kodo Araki V\, both in Japan and in the graduate world music program at Wesleyan University. He performs traditional and contemporary music throughout North America\, Asia\, and Europe\, and has recorded for Innova\, CBS Masterworks\, Lyrichord\, Music of the World\, Tzadik\, XI Records\, Pogus\, and other labels. He was shakuhachi soloist in the New York City Ballet production of Jerome Robbins’ “Watermill”\, and his annual “Flutes of Hope” concert\, commemorating the victims of the earthquake/tsunami in Japan\, has been presented in New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. In 2011 and 2013 he was artist in residence at the Lou Harrison House in Joshua Tree\, California. He is an international advisor for the Seoul Institute of the Arts in Korea and is senior advisor and former director of the Asian Cultural Council. \nElizabeth Brown combines a composing career with a diverse performing life\, playing flute\, shakuhachi\, and theremin in a wide variety of musical circles. She is celebrated both here and in Japan for her compositions combining eastern and western sensibilities. A Juilliard graduate and Guggenheim Fellowship recipient\, her music has been heard in Japan\, the Soviet Union\, Colombia\, Australia\, South Africa and Vietnam as well as across the US and Europe. She has received grants\, awards and commissions from Orpheus\, St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble\, Newband\, the Asian Cultural Council\, the Japan/US Friendship Commission\, Meet the Composer\, the Electronic Music Foundation\, the Cary Trust\, and NYFA. DESCRIPTION:映像と音を楽しみながら、、深く瞑想に入り込むことのできる、新しいタイプのマルチメディア・コンサート「Shades of Green in the Light」のご案内です。\nCRSのヒーラー・佐藤みよ子のクリスタル・シンギング・ボウルの演奏から始まり、音楽家Seungmin ChaとJunYi Chow による即興演奏、ビデオアーティストのKaren Y. Chan のコラボレーションによって、音と映像の世界を広げていきます。 \nThough often fleeting\, the awareness of stillness is like entering the wilderness\, where time melts away and the senses are awakened by subtleties that become magnified. There is clarity and spaciousness in stillness that encourages the mind to wander into unexplored regions. It is an opportunity to observe\, question\, or just be present with what is there\, or more importantly\, what is not there. Some instruments that will be heard include the daegum\, a traditional Korean bamboo flute\, played by Cha\, who will also incorporate electronic sounds\, and the cello and melodion\, played by Chow. The musicians will live-score Chan’s video collage during a 60-minute improvisational set that will include moments of stillness. \nThis concert concludes Seungmin Cha’s Asian Cultural Council fellowship in NYC. Tickets are $20 and are available online\, by phone (212-677-8621) and at the door. \n\nSeungmin Cha \n\n \nphoto by Inu Nah \n\nEmerging as one of the most influential experimental Daegeum (Korean transverse bamboo flute) artists\, Seungmin Cha was trained in traditional music and its discourse. A graduate of the School of Music at Seoul National University\, Ms. Cha has developed her career as a solo Daegeum artist\, the director of her music ensemble Shiro as well as composer. She is performing both solo and in bands as part of the indie music scene of Seoul’s Hongdae neighbourhood. Her performances incorporate traditional (jeongga and minyo)\, indie\, experimental elements. You can see the evolution of Gugak (Korean traditional music) through her as a traditional music performer\, who is at the same time\, a contemporary composer and independent musician in the underground scene. She received a prestigious Asian Cultural Council fellowship in 2016 and is currently living in NYC until October with ACC’s support. https://seungminchamusic.com \nJunYi Chow \n\n \nphoto by Cherry Au \n\nMalaysia-born New York-based Composer\, Multi-instrumentalist and Improviser. Chow’s music has been lauded by Financial Times for its “skilful contrasts in both volume and texture.” His interest in music explores the indefinite possibilities of tone colour and sound\, and features a mixed musical style based on classical contemporary music\, Chinese tunes\, Gamelan music\, minimalism\, and popular music\, amongst other influences. In March 2017\, he received the Grand Prize of Best Orchestra Work by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra International Composition Competition. His current project is “Stillness in Queens\,” a collaborative cross-disciplinary work with video artist Karen Y. Chan and is partly funded by Queens Council On The Arts. He is currently the Composer-In-Residence of Teng Company (Singapore) and Vivo Experimental Orchestra (Malaysia). Chan (b. 1975\, New York City) works with video\, film\, and sound to explore the relationships between space\, time\, and memory. To me\, the camera has transcended its nature as a mechanical device and has become something verging on a magic instrument. Capable of capturing the fleeting and the ephemeral\, of freezing light and stopping time\, of making the intimate public\, of telling profound truths and fascinating lies\, of imbuing meaning into the mundane and transforming the precious into the mechanical\, the camera is a collective third eye that has shaped the perceptions of a species.\nArtist Profile:\nFilmmaker\, writer\, and artist Chris Fiore\, born 1959 in Norfolk\, Virginia\, received his BFA from Antioch College in 1984. In the late 80’s he was one of the founders of the Zone\, a artist collective occupying an abandoned warehouse at 104 South 4th St\, in Williamsburg\, Brooklyn. Fiore showed at the East Village’s KOAP gallery in the early 90’s and in 1995 directed the underground documentary Trip and Go Naked\, winner of the Excellence in Sexual Theater award at Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show. He went on to direct the feature documentary Backstage for Miramax\, a behind the scenes look at Jay Z’s Hard Knock Life Tour. The film had a profitable run in theaters and is still occasionally in rotation on the Showtime network 17 years after it was made. Fiore has also directed documentaries on the making of the Victoria’s Secret Christmas Catalog\, the band Paramore\, as well as two prime time specials for Fox Television. His most recent documentary\, Goodwoman\, tells the story of Debra Goodman\, an activist brutally arrested for filming the NYPD. Featured in several film festivals\, Goodwoman won the Grand Jury Award at the 2016 LA Film Invasion film festival. He’s currently directing a documentary and web series on artist Ken Hiratsuka.\nFiore’s first feature film script\, The Utopia Virus\, finished in the top ten of the 2005 Final Draft Big Break screenwriting contest. He also wrote the Wassup Obama ad\, described by Salon.com as one of the most creative of the 2008 presidential campaign and winner of a Cannes Lion. He’s currently working on a series of film treatments for a Beijing based production company.\nFiore’s film work has directly influenced his art over the years\, in his use of appropriated imagery\, presentation of sequential images\, and in the cinematically dynamic composition of his mosaic photography. SUMMARY:Prayer for Amara: 音と旋​舞のメディテーション​
DESCRIPTION:CRSのお仲間へ \n9月21日（木） 午後8時より、楽器の生演奏と旋舞（円を描くように回ること）を通して、あまらちゃんとそのご家族、そして私たち自身の祈りを共有する瞑想イベントを開催します。 \nあまらちゃんは、CRSのお仲間ウィリアムズ・ケンジ＆小夜子ご夫妻の5歳になる長女で、2014年に脳腫瘍と診断されたのち、現在も治療や手術を乗り越え続けています。\nCRSでは「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」として、世界各地に住む約170名と一緒に毎週木曜日午後 9:30pm（NY時間）から10分ほど、それぞれの場所で瞑想と祈りのひとときを持っています。どこにいても心で繋がりながら、共に祈っていることを再確認する場として、この祈りのイベントを定期的に行っています。 \n祈りはCRSのヒーラー・佐藤みよ子のクリスタル・シンギング・ボウルの演奏から始まり、西村千子さんたちによるパーカッションのライブ演奏で音と心の輪を広げていきます。CRSのヒーラーであり「あまらちゃん祈りの輪」をリードしている小野永保子の祈りと共に、あまらちゃんの母でパフォーマンスアーティストでもある、ラーレ小夜子さんリードのもと、皆で旋舞をします。小夜子さんは、あまらちゃんへの祈りと自身の踊りの練習を結びつける動きを探求しつづけてきました。経験は問わず、どなたでも自由に参加できます。 \n参加費は、前日まで$20、当日支払いは$25です。参加費の50%は、あまらちゃんのご家族へ寄付されます。 \nくるくると回りはじめると、めまいがしたりバランスを崩すかもしれませんが、自分自身を信頼し、旋回を続ける中で、その中心にある心の静けさに気づくと共に、計り知れない大きなエネルギーに包まれ、繋がっている感覚を実感することができるでしょう。 \nIf you are quiet and in a state of prayer when you Turn\, offering everything of yourself to God\, then when your body is spinning\, there is a completely still point in the center… The heavens respond; and all the invisible kingdoms join in the dance. DESCRIPTION:吟遊音楽家、茶喜利さんによるスペシャル・コンサート！ \n2017年「からだ会議 in NY」の最後のイベント、世界各地で音と心の旅を続ける茶喜利（チャッキリ）さんによる「Mother Note」のスペシャル・コンサートに参加してみませんか？　茶喜利さんが奏でる様々な楽器の音色とともに、参加者のみなさんで母なる音「母音」を声に出し、それぞれの音霊「Mother Note」を響かせ合います。その時その場でしか経験できない、音による深い癒しをご一緒に感じてみましょう！ \n始まりの音に還る「Mother Note」コンサート。母性は唄い、子性は踊っています。\n分かれて聴こえる子音をのばしていけば必ず分かれていない母音に辿り着きます。\nみんなで母なる音「母音」を声に出して響かせ合うワークショップ & コンサート。\n胎児のポーズで母なる旋律「Mother Note」を聴けば、分かれていない音の世界を思い出していくことができ、蓮華のポーズで母なる旋律「Mother Note」を踊れば、分かれて見える光の世界で生きている子性の喜びを感じることができるでしょう。 \n茶喜利（CHAKKIRI）プロフィール\nインド古典音楽家Kishor Ghosh氏に師事し、師より授かったインドの三味線でNorah Jones氏の父である Ravi Shankar 氏の口伝の「Raga」を即興演奏する。\n20代に訪れた中国の西安で自身に流れる母なる旋律「Mother Note」に出会い、コンサートと共に音楽療法を展開する。考案した「Handle Walking」と合わせてBody、Mind、Spiritを意識した音と身体の表現を追及。現在、女優浅野温子氏の古事記よみ語りの音楽を担当し全国の神社や仏閣で奉納演奏をおこなっている。
