The film is a meditation on the power of the imagination to reclaim our right to dream a different world. Taking aim at a system that seduces us into being accomplices of our own destruction, the film celebrates individuals working across the Americas to create alternative spaces of resistance.
Part One, “Meditations on a Failed Revolution,” focuses on the culturally insurgent capitalist propagandizing of Donald Duck and the sucesses and failures of the Occupy movement and of the leftist movement in Chile.
Parts Two and Three continue the whirlwind journey through the hyper capitalist dream machine, examining the phonomenon of Joe the Plumber, the Latino economic empowerment movement, and the Gay “Che” of Chile, among others. Taken together, these stories help us better understand how we are seduced—and how we can better resist—a system that appeals to our deepest desires.
The Q&A will be moderated by Greg Hittelman, Director of Communictions and Strategic Development of the Confict Awareness Project.
